What do I need to bring with me?
Where are you located?
We are located at 2890 S. Colorado Blvd., Unit M-3, Denver, CO 80222. The store is in the same shopping center as Sprouts and Rite Aid, across from the entrance to the Chez Artiste Theater and under Tuesday Morning. Click here for a Map and Directions.
Do my kids need to shop with me?
If possible, we recommended that children and youth come for the appointment so that they can choose clothing that they like, but it isn’t required. Dressing rooms are provided for students to try on clothing. A small play area with toys is available to help entertain young children while parents shop, but we kindly ask clients to closely supervise their children during the appointment.
Can someone other than a parent/guardian shop for a student?
When it is not possible for a parent/guardian to shop for a student, we invite other family members or representatives from a referring agency to bring the students to shop, or shop on the family’s behalf. The person bringing the student(s) must have proof of automatic eligibility or a referral and an appointment. Examples of people who can bring a student to shop include a court appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteer, a Guardian ad litem (GAL), a child-protection worker, a mentor or a representative from a school, human service agency, shelter, hospital, clinic or place of worship. Referring agencies and family members should always obtain permission from a parent/guardian before shopping on behalf of a student.
How much clothing will kids get?
Each student receives 5 tops, 4 bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts or dresses), 1 additional dress or skirt (optional), 1 jacket, 1 pair of shoes and 5 pairs each of new underwear and socks. Volunteer shopping assistants work with families to help them find complete wardrobes for each child. Extra items, such as pajamas, belts, hats, jewelry, winter accessories, school supplies, books and toys may also be available. Wardrobe items may not be substituted.
What if the clothes I get my kids don’t fit?
Exchanges are allowed within two weeks of the original shopping date. Items must have their original tag attached. Socks and underwear may not be returned or exchanged for any reason. No appointment is needed to exchange clothing.
Can parents get clothing too?
Clothes To Kids only provides clothing to students grades preschool – 12th grade and people working toward earning their GED (under 21 years old).
How often can I shop?
Clothes To Kids is a year-round program. Eligible students may shop twice in a 12-month period and must have an appointment each time they visit.
Where does your clothing come from?
Most of our clothing is donated from families who have kids that have grown out of their clothing. Many organizations, churches, schools and corporations help stock our store with clothing drives and through our Apparel Partners, who provide new clothing.
